Welcome to Autism is Our Lives, a dedicated space for all things related to Autism. This site/blog/store is a labor of love, created to assist those navigating the often complex yet profoundly rewarding journey of Autism. While it may not encompass everything related to Autism, our primary mission is to provide guidance and support to new parents or guardians of individuals with Autism, offering a glimmer of hope amidst the challenges. We aim to maintain a regular stream of daily blog posts and curate a wealth of resource links and innovative ideas. Please bear in mind that, given our personal circumstances as parents of four autistic children, our commitment to regular updates may sometimes be tested by the chaotic nature of life.

Disclaimer: We want to make it clear that nothing on this site is intended to offend or discriminate against any individual, group, race, creed, or any other category. The content we share is primarily for informational purposes. As such, we may discuss various topics, including religion and personal beliefs. So, what is Autism? In our view, it’s a unique way of living life. We don’t consider it a disease or a condition caused by vaccines or medications. Instead, we believe individuals with Autism are gifts to the world, sent to bring brightness, love, and a different perspective into our lives. They challenge the negative narratives often perpetuated by the media and remind us that there are alternative ways to view the world.

In a world currently filled with strife, being a parent to an autistic child reveals the extraordinary facets of life. It teaches us that not everything has to fit into neat categories and that there are more compassionate ways to approach life’s challenges.

Autism is officially defined as follows: “Autism is a complex neurodevelopmental disorder that manifests in early childhood and is characterized by persistent challenges in social communication, repetitive behaviors, and sensory sensitivities. It exists along a spectrum, with individuals displaying a wide range of symptoms and strengths, making each person’s experience with autism unique.” To us, Autism is and will always be a way of life.

Thank you for visiting our site, and we hope that our content helps you find inspiration, support, and a deeper understanding of Autism. Please feel free to explore our blog posts, resources, and Autistic-style toys in our store. Together, we can make this journey a little brighter and more inclusive for everyone.
